Paul E. Bartges, 85, of Antes Fort, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 14,1934 in Liberty, Pa., the son of the late Rev. Lee W. Bartges and Iva Moyer Bartges. Paul had one sister, Daisy Reeder who preceded him in death.
On Dec. 8, 1966, he married Amanda A. Zonge who survives at home.
He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1952 where he played football and baseball.
He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as an electrician with Alcan Cable for 33 years.
Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. After retirement bee keeping became his hobby and he was a member of the Lycoming County Bee Association. Paul's favorite quote was âHave a honey of a day.ã
Paul is also survived by one son, David L. Bartges (Linda), Williamsport; two daughters, Kelly J. Ryan (Paul), of Lock Haven, and Beth M. Struncis, of Etters, Pa.; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason D. Bartges.
Private Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hublersburg Cemetery, Hublersburg, Pa.
