Michael Lamey, 34, of Loganton, passed away in the early evening hours of Thanksgiving on November 28, 2024, surrounded by his family at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on July 20, 1990 in Lock Haven to Wayne and Debra Lamey, and despite being born with a heart defect, lived life to the fullest.
Mike was a 2008 graduate of the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School. He was a construction worker, and enjoyed working with his hands.
He was a typical "Valley Boy," always into something, making a lot of fun out of a little. When he was a child he ran, drove tractors on his Grandpa's farm, and wrestled with his brothers. As an adult he loved hunting, writing songs, and going for mountain rides in his iconic white Chevy truck, with his favorite music by Machine Gun Kelly, Kidd G., and especially Jelly Roll, blaring from the speakers.
Mike was one of those guys who would give the shirt off his back to anyone, whether he knew them or not. He was handsome with movie star looks and big blue eyes. His laugh was contagious.
He was close with his parents and loved them both. His mom fought the fight with him the past few weeks, rarely leaving his side. Michael’s brothers were his best friends, and he and his sister Maria had a special bond. He was her dog she was his cat, and they lovingly called each other "catdog."
He loved his big family deeply, but his greatest love, his greatest accomplishment, will always be his daughter Emma Grace. From the moment she came into the world, she was his number one. When they were together, there was nothing else but them. From singing to four-wheeling to playing at the park, every second was quality time together. When he gets to Heaven, and the angels ask him what his favorite thing about living on earth was, Emma Grace will be his first answer.
Michael left this world way too early, but he packed 100 years into the 34 he was given. His family is heartbroken, but death can not erase the love, laughter, and memories he has left behind.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Claire and Lucille Lamey; his maternal grandmother, Anna M. Seyler; and his big brother David Clair Lamey.
Michael is survived by his daughter Emma Grace Lamey of Loganton; his parents Wayne and Debra Lamey of Loganton; the mother of his child, Blayne Weaver Lamey of Loganton; and his siblings, Maria (Nathan) Miller of Loganton; Wayne (Melissa) Lamey of Rebersburg; William (Jamie) Lamey of Lock Haven; Alan (Marybeth Shortledge) Lamey of Flemington; and Fred Lamey of Loganton. Also surviving is his grandfather Ronald Seyler of Mill Hall, and several uncles, aunts, and lots of nieces and nephews.
