Thomas R. Spearing

     Thomas R. “Tom” Spearing, 80, husband of Nancy L. (Rannels) Spearing of 34 Evergreen Estates, Jersey Shore, PA, passed away at home on Saturday, June 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

     Born in Lewistown, PA on February 7, 1946 he was the son of the late Ollie and Dollie (Rowe) Spearing.

     He was a 1964 graduate of Chief Logan High School later named Indian Valley High School, Lewistown, PA.

     Nancy and Tom were wed on October 7, 1967 and shared over 58 years of marriage together.

     He was veteran of the Vietnam War serving honorably with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, Avis, PA.

     Tom was employed throughout the years with several companies in management roles.  He most recently was employed for over 20 years with the Walnut Street Christian School, Avis, PA, in the business department.

     Along with his wife he is survived by a son David T. Spearing of Jersey Shore, PA, a daughter, Kristina Spearing of McElhattan, PA, a grandson Mason R. Spearing and a granddaughter Tiffany Spearing.

     In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Jack. E. Spearing.

     A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Walnut Street Baptist Church, 201 W. Highland St., Avis, PA (17721) with Pastor George Grossman officiating.  The family will provide flowers.  If desired memorials may be made in Tom’s name to his church.  Private Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
